Head of Judiciary orders immdediate action regarding detainees

Ayatollah Shahroudi, head of Iranian Judiciary, gave Tehran's Prosecutor in Chief, Said Mortazavi, one week to process the detainees of recent protests and to reduce their numbers to the "utmost minimum." The Iranian Parliament has also appointed a committee to look into the situation of recent detainees. NajafAbadi, Iran's Chief Prosecutor, has declared that "unlawful conduct by officials is subject to legal punishment." While pro-government media have annouced that confessions obtained from detainees will be aired on state television, the leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khamenei, has declared that he has forbidden any act of "oppression" against the people
