Islamic Iran Participation Front:"They are clearing the evidence of their crimes."

Islamic Iran Participation Front released a statement declaring that the one-week given to the Chief Prosecutor of Tehran to deal with the recent detainees is a grace period to dispose of all evidence regarding recent crimes committed within detention centres. They claim detainees have been beaten and whipped, stood in line and forced to berate themselves and in some cases covered in gasoline and forced to sit in the burning sun. They have allegedly even been forced to lick the toilet bowls in police headquarters. According to this press release, the perpetrators of the recent atrocities planned to neutralize people’s protests against their “coup” by creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. The “organizers of this coup” intended to use fabricated confessions regarding a so-called “velvet revolution” as a pretext to settle personal debts with a large group of political forces. The Participation Front concludes that the directive to determine the situation of detainees, however late, reveals that this scenario has failed.
