The official coroner released its report on the death of Mohsen Ruholamini. According to Mehr News Agency, “physical stress, repeated blows and blows with a hard object” were the cause of death.

Ruholamini, is the son of AbdolHosein Ruholamini, senior aide to Mohsen Rezai, a defeated candidate of the June presidential elections. The victim was arrested on July 9 in the course of post-election protests and his beaten cadaver was released to his parents two weeks later.

Security forces cited meningitis as the cause of his death. The coroner’s report according to Mehr News Agency rules out meningitis as cause of death.

IRNA reported that AdbolHosein Ruholamini met with the Supreme Leader yesterday at his meeting with university staff. IRNA spoke of Ruholamini as a parent whose son died in detention due to "sickness."

Yesterday Ayatollah Khamenei once more stressed that the perpetrators of crimes against people will not be immune from prosecution.

Already Chief of Police and the Revolutionary Guards have denied any wrongdoing in the part of their forces. Some violations, according to them, were committed without the knowledge of the superiors or by ruffians disguised in the uniform of the Basij militia.
