Ahmadinejad announces new conditions for nuclear talks

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced his new conditions for continuing nuclear negotiations with Western powers.

He told a press conference today that he will not meet with G5+1 until end of August.

Ahmadinejad went on to condemn the 1929 UN resolution against Iran calling the world powers “out of order” for approving it. He added that the delay in the negotiations is a direct result of their actions and one that “should teach them the customs of holding a dialogue with different nations.”

He also declared that another condition for the talks is for the West to announce their opinion about “Israel’s atomic bombs.”

Israel has never officially confirmed that it has atomic arsenals but international analysts say they are in possession of nuclear missiles.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also added: “The G5+1 must announce if it is entering negotiations based on NPT regulations or not.”

His third condition was described as indicating their intentions in holding talks. He said: “They must announce what is their objective for dialogue. Are they looking for friendship or enmity? We have a different form of negotiation with those who are looking for friendship than those who are looking for enmity.”

Ahmadinejad also said that the make up of the group of negotiators has to be changed. “We will alter the composition of negotiators because the five countries that have the unfair veto power and no one is allowed to complain against them have an oppressive and one-sided relationship with other countries.”

In response to CIA Director Leon Panetta who said last week Iran has enough enriched Uranium to build two bombs, Ahmadinejad said: “Iranians are wise and they know you cannot counter 20 thousand bombs with two.”

In a television interview, Leon Panetta contended that if Iran chose to pursue nuclear weapons, they could build a bomb in two years.

Ahmadinejad’s new conditions for talks come after the UN approved new sanctions against Iran this month.

Following the UN resolution, the US, Australia, the European Union, Japan and a few other countries went on to impose further unilateral sanctions against Iran.

The US and its allies claim Iran is not transparent enough regarding its nuclear activities and accuse it of pursuing the nuclear bomb. Iran claims all its nuclear efforts are for peaceful purposes.
