Revolutionary Guards not "worried" about sanctions

Deputy Commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards reacted to the fourth set of UN sanctions, which shows a large focus on blacklisting Revolutionary Guards organizations, saying they are not “worried” about them.
“The economical existence of the Revolutionary Guards is not based on interaction with the big world powers and it is only the outside world that will suffer from these sanctions,” Commander Hossein Salami said at the sidelines of a conference.
Mehr News Agency reports that Hossein Salami dismissed threats of Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities saying that such threats and sanctions imposed by the US and “Zionists” are nothing new.
The military commander added: “We have been reared in this very arena and organized our defence powers based on the worst case scenarios.”
The new UN resolution to impose fresh sanctions on Iran was passed on last Wednesday. The new set of sanctions, unlike the other three which were all passed during the presidency of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, concentrates more on blacklisting companies and organization tied with Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps of the Islamic Republic.
“Revolutionary Guards Khatam-ol-nabia Construction Base” which recently took over Southern Pars oil and natural gas projects, and its four subsidiary organizations: Mekin, Rahab, Fater and Safety Construction Consulting Engineers are amongst the blacklisted companies.
The Revolutionary Guards Commander maintained that since Iran is both the producer and consumer of “powerful” economic goods, the world is in need of “economic interaction” with us. He added: “We have tested all models of living under sanctions and we have achieved complete independence in the vital supports of the country.”
Following the passing of the new UN resolutions, Russia stopped its sale of S-300 rockets to Iran and EU foreign ministers are in the course of discussing imposing their own set of sanctions on Iran’s oil and gas industries.
