The National Peace Council is a coalition of Iranian writers, artists, lawyers, women, university students, union activists and representatives of ethnic minorities as well as political groups that are engaged in peace and human rights activities.

Kaleme Website also reports that Alireza Beheshti Shirazi, MirHosein Mousavi’s chief aide and editor-in-chief of Kaleme newspaper was finally given a trial date.

Beheshti Shirazi was arrested last December along with other Mousavi aides and has been in Evin Prison since.

He is incarcerated in section 305 of Evin Prison and will get his trial on August first.
