Iranian opposition leader's home swarmed

Mehdi Karroubi

Websites close to Mehdi Karroubi report that a number of plain clothes forces have surrounded the opposition leader's house and are increasing in numbers.

Saham news reports that over fifty people in plain clothes are currently in front of Karroubi’s home and also last night a similar group in front of his home prevented him from participating in a religious event.

Saham news also reports that these individuals carry shockers, batons and tear gas bombs and arrived at the scene on large motorbikes and in various other cars.

The news has not been confirmed by other sources; however, such attacks on Mehdi Karroubi’s home or person are not unprecetented and have occurred on several occasions in the past.

Recently, Karroubi once more made statements condemning the alleged fraud in the 2009 presidential elections of Iran and stressed that he has ample evidence to prove his allegations.
